Landing pad covers # Y8890029 are really the only option. You could always uninstall before the wash and reinstall the crossbars after if you don't like the way it looks. You could also stick to brushless car washes where nothing could get caught in the rack. Hi Laris; when you say tow bar were you referring to the base plates the tow bar fits into? If so then yes, there are replacement plugs for the base plates, it just depends on the manufacturer and style of the base plate you have. For example the Blue Ox fits all their base plates but the Demco is for their Tabless base plates only. I'll go ahead and list them out for you.

So your 2015 Jayco Precept 29UM is on a Ford F-53 18K chassis which is the limiting factor with a towing capacity of 5,000lbs. I believe this is the restriction you are having. The Curt Receiver # C14048 you found while having a higher rating will not increase your towing capacity.

The Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points # RRRVP01 is designed to fit 2002 - 2006 Honda CR-V's with no factory rails that have fixed mounting points. If you look at the roof there should be some small plastic covers to pop out to gain access to the fixed mounting points if you have them.
